I am a passionate software engineer, dedicated to leveraging technology for positive change. I wear many hats, but the main ones I have are as a first-generation immigrant, first-generation college graduate, and now a proud permanent resident. My journey has been shaped by my experiences as a DACAmented Mexican American, living as an undocumented immigrant for 25 years, 10 of which I spent as a DACA recipient.
In recent years, I have become increasingly vocal on immigrant rights. Having immigrated to the US at the age of 3 years old, I have personally faced numerous challenges and do not wish them unto others. Much like in software, where constant iteration and improvement drive progress, I believe that our society has the power to continuously evolve and strive for equity, justice, and inclusion.
I am an unwavering activist for immigrant rights, and I encourage others to join me in making a difference. By advocating for change, embracing diversity, and harnessing the power of technology, we can each contribute our individual grain of sand on our world’s mountain of change. Together, we can build a future where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive and create a lasting impact that transforms our society for the better.
